International workshop “Europa lander: science goals and experiments” Space Research Institute (IKI), Moscow, Russia 9-13 February 2009 SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT International workshop “The Europa Lander: science goals and experiments” is organized by the Space Research Institute (IKI) of Russian Academy of Sciences, on February 9-13, 2009, in Moscow, Russia. The workshop will last 5 days including the days of arrival/departure and some sightseeing events, and focus on the scientific goals and technical aspects of the project, key issues of Europa science with the special emphasis on astrobiology and requirements to scientific instruments.

The workshop will take place in Space Research Institute (IKI) located near the Kaluzhskaya metro station (Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line N6 (orange line on the metro map), on the southwest of Moscow city. The best way to get to the institute is to take a subway (see guide). The plan to access to IKI from the metro station can be found here. LOC provides visa support for participants registered before December 5. For these participants before the end of 2008 LOC. will send out official invitations to be submitted to Russian consulates in January. Alternatively, a touristic visa to Russia can be obtained with a prepaid voucher from many hotels (see the list of Moscow hotels). Participants are encouraged to apply for the visa well in advance in order to avoid last minute problems.
